Hi, my name is Lizzy, and I’m an Oral Health Therapist at Sure Dental here in Brisbane North.
Earlier today, I had the pleasure of meeting little Connor, one of our youngest patients here at our practice. I remember speaking to his mother a few weeks ago when she asked me, “At what age should I bring my son to have his first dental check-up?”
We actually get this question from new parents quite often, so I thought I would make this short video sharing with you when you should start bringing your child in for their dental check-ups and, of course, why.
After their third birthday, it’s a good time for an initial appointment to count the teeth, do a thorough examination, and even attempt to polish the teeth.
Finally, if you notice any shadows or chipped teeth at any age, it is best to make an appointment to have the teeth assessed at any age. It is always best to come in for your peace of mind.
Ultimately, what we want to achieve is to create a positive experience your child has with the dental visits, as well as healthy dental habits, and setting them up for a lifetime of oral health.
If you’re considering taking your child to their first dental visit, we would love to look after them!
Simply visit our website at www.suredental.com.au and fill out the enquiry form, send us a direct message through social media or give us a call on 07 3256 9111, and we will help you organise your child’s first consultation. I hope you found this video useful. See you at the next one.
