Hi, it’s Michael Ghobrial here from Sure Dental. One treatment we get lots of enquiries about is Invisalign treatment. And one thing patients often want to ask is how much is Invisalign and why is there so much variation in the cost of Invisalign? So I thought I’d do this video and share with you some of the things to consider when wanting to find out about the cost of Invisalign.
The cost of teeth straightening with a clear aligner system such as Invisalign can range from as little as $1,000 and I have heard of people paying over $10,000, and here are 3 of the factors that determine the price.
- The first thing is when wanting to use a clear aligner system like Invisalign that moves teeth in such an inconspicuous way, an important thing to check is that the dentist is actually using the Invisalign brand. Invisalign tends to cost a little bit more than some of the other products out there. But the reason for that is that at the moment, as it stands, Invisalign is the premium provider for this. And they have many, many cases, hundreds of thousands, even millions of smile transformations and lots of research to show the effectiveness of the tooth movement. And that is a reason why for our aligner therapy, we use Invisalign here at Sure Dental.
- The next thing that impacts the price is how complex is the case. Within Invisalign, they’ve actually got a number of different products. They have their Invisalign full product, which is really great for really complex and long term treatments, which costs the most. Then they’ve got their Invisalign moderate, which is great for cases that are less complex and not quite as long term. And finally, they’ve got their Invisalign light, which we find really useful for patients with minor crowding, if we can get things done in a quick and efficient way. They also have their I7 for those who have a tiny relapse and only need very minimal tooth movement.
We can also choose whether we’re going to do both arches, top and bottom teeth, or just top teeth or bottom teeth. And all of these actually affect the price considerably because of the cost of the Invisalign. And so the cost of your Invisalign will really vary depending on whether you need a full product, a moderate, a light, or even something else. - The other important factor is the experience of the Provider doing the treatment. Seeing some photos of their previous cases, asking if they use a digital scanner like Trios to record things accurately and do they have the skill set if things don’t go to plan.
So the things to consider when considering Invisalign and cost is what’s the aligner system being used? Is it actually Invisalign? And then of the Invisalign, how can I use the most efficient way? And which product is best for me? The best way to do that is actually with a good consultation, some great photos, a 3D scan.
