Hi, my name is Lizzy, and I am an Oral Health Therapist here at Sure Dental.
Last week, I met with Christina. Her family recently moved into the neighbourhood and was looking for a new dental practice to look after them. As we were talking, she asked me “What usually happens when a child has their first visit at a dental clinic?”
And this got me thinking… Other people might be wondering the same thing. So I thought I would make this short video to share with you what happens at a child’s first dental visit.
Firstly, we will introduce ourselves and make your child feel as comfortable as possible. We will count their teeth and assess how well they are brushing their teeth with the aid of plaque disclosure. We will give your child tips on how to do this better and, of course, assess their mouth for decay or developmental defects and occlusion.
We will remove any plaque and calculus deposits as needed. Depending on their decay risk and age, we’ll apply an appropriate remineralising agent tailored to your child.
If you’re thinking about taking your kids to their first dental checkup, we’d be more than happy to look after them!
Simply visit our website at www.suredental.com.au and fill out the enquiry form, send us a direct message through social media or better yet give us a call on 07 3113 9698, and we will help you organise your child’s consultation. I hope you found this video useful. See you at the next one.
