Dental Crowns and Bridges
Dental Crowns and Bridges

Dental Crowns & Bridges Brisbane, Wavell Heights, Clayfield

Dental crowns can be used to protect teeth that are structurally undermined or teeth that have fractured or cracked. Dental bridges can be used as replacements when natural teeth cannot be repaired and the tooth is lost.

With today’s technology, dentists do their best to save teeth instead of removing them by detecting internal fracture early before any painful signs or symptoms arise, as this is often too late. Our team of professionals at Sure Dental can help determine if dental crowns or bridges may be right for you.

What, Exactly, Is a Dental Crown or Bridge?

A dental crown is a fixed prosthetic type of dental restoration. Dental crowns are a long term solution that is used to encase and protect damaged teeth, just like a helmet protects a person’s head.

At Sure Dental our crowns are unique and individually handcrafted by a Master Ceramist using different layers of material. The materials used to make crowns include porcelain or even gold. They are customised in colour, shape and fit to feel just like your own teeth.

Dental bridges may be used when a tooth has been lost and needs replacement.

Who Needs Them?

Crowns and bridges are used in a variety of dental situations. Crowns are used when a tooth is structurally compromised. They protect weak teeth. Protect teeth from fracturing. Strengthen broken teeth. Crowns hold dental bridges in place. In each case, crowns support or replace structures that no longer work on their own.

R

A solution to missing teeth
R
Protect badly damaged teeth or teeth with root canals
For patients who require a larger replacement, dental crowns and bridges may be an option to replace multiple teeth with the conjunction of dental implants.

Sometimes dentures and partial dentures are used for replacing larger groups of teeth. But dental crowns or bridges can offer a superior solution, as they are more permanent and more comfortable than traditional dentures. You don’t have to worry about slippage, mouth sores or prosthetics interfering with your speech, because they stay in place, just like your regular teeth.

What to Expect

If you are considering a crown or bridge, we can help. Our team at Sure Dental will do a full dental examination and evaluation to determine which is the best solution for you. We will discuss all options and work with you, so you are confident with your final decision, and then we can begin. Here is what you can expect during your visit:

We may request dental x-rays to find any hidden cavities or other dental issues
Your teeth will be prepared and shaped for the dental crown or bridge
We will take a digital scan of your teeth so we can make a 3D mould of the crown or bridge
We will help you determine the correct colour or shade for your new prosthetice
You will receive a temporary replacement while the crown or bridge is being made
When ready, your new dental crown or bridge will be permanently placed on your teeth and all final adjustments, including colour and shaping, will be done
