What to expect after different treatments

After a smile makeover
When porcelain veneers or crowns are being placed, the patient typically leaves the practice with carefully fitted temporary restorations. Care is taken with the gums during preparation to minimise irritation, and most patients return to work and other commitments on the same day.
After minor restorative work
For most general procedures such as fillings or dental crowns, patients can usually return to their day without disruption. A short period of numbness from local anaesthetic, usually around ninety minutes, is the most common after effect.
After surgical procedures
For surgical treatments, including the removal of impacted wisdom teeth, Dr Michael Ghobrial generally recommends taking two days off work to rest and allow the body to recover. Specific aftercare instructions are provided for each case.
